The Federation of African Medical Students Association, FAMSA, is an independent, non political federation of medical students associations in Africa. FAMSA is a body with a membership of 47 medical schools spread across 23 countries on the African continent.

The Permanent Headquarters of the Federation of African Medical Students' Associations invites you to her International Conference on the theme “War, AIDS and the African Child”. The conference holds from October 25 - 29,  2004 at the College of Medicine, University of Ibadan, Ibadan in Nigeria.

 Conference objectives:

• Expose medical students to issues in war and conflict prevention
• To highlight the deleterious impact of war on children
• To highlight the impact of war in the dynamics of HIV/AIDS in Africa
• To explore possible roles of medical Students in intervention activities
• To explore the role of medical students in Anti-War Advocacy
• To prepare for the FAMSA 25th General Assembly with the theme: "War and Health" (to be hosted by Bahr El Ghazal University Medical Student Association (BUMSA SUDAN).
